When we think about growth what usually comes to mind is that it’s exciting, wonderful exhilarating, and freeing. But actually these emotions usually come from the result of growth — at the end, once we’ve experienced the positive results from growth and we’re looking back over our journey.
However, at the beginning of a growth phrase it more likely feels uncomfortable & daunting or even like we’re ending or giving up something. That we’re launching into uncharted & unfamiliar territory.
And yes, that may need to give up who we are or what we have in order to get what we want.
Ultimately to grow something needs to change – an action, belief, habit.
Simply put growth can be scary and totally out of our comfort zone!
So many people I talk to are striving for “growth or change” but not really taking action to move forward – saying one thing but their actions aren’t supporting their desired outcome.
Whether it’s growing your business, launching a program/product, losing weight, buying a home or a million other things, to achieve any of these we need to be willing to be uncomfortable – to expand our comfort zone.
If you truly want to achieve growth get comfortable with being uncomfortable!
