success strategies

It's hard to believe that just a month ago I was on vacation in Oregon.  It all seems like a blur now so I couldn't help but take a peek at some of my photos to remember the rolling waves and sandy beaches.

As I was flipping through the images I was reminded of the  4th of July celebrations in Yachats we enjoyed. Yachats is a village of about 1000 people with loads of character a just a few miles down the road from the cabin.

As the year passes through the midpoint  now is a perfect time to review how you've been doing and what it takes to achieve or even exceed your goals for the year.

One of my favorite sayings is "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity."  Since it's St. Patrick's Day today, I wish that quote had been by someone Irish, but it's in fact by Seneca, a Roman philosopher who lived in the first century AD.

Do you find yourself frequently thinking or say "I know that"?  If you do, you may want to pause and ask yourself... Is that really true?

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Today's the day to give treats to your loved ones (and even yourself!). It's also the perfect time to acknowledge other people you appreciate, for example your suppliers, clients and prospects too.

And so, I have cooked up something special for you...

First, your Valentine's gift!

Referrals are key to growing your business. But rather than take a wait and see approach hoping to get some referrals a proactive approach is to strategically develop Referral Partners -- people who you have a relationship with and who proactively introduce and refer you to your target prospects. The prospects they send you are the easiest-to-convert leads you'll ever get.

As we take down one calendar and put up our new shiny 2014 calendar, I find it valuable to stop and reflect over the past year. I like to call it a "post mortem". A time to contemplate the successes and failures of the past year - a look back to count your blessings, think about the lessons learned and new insights gained.

Are these summer days making you lazy? Are you craving some time away from the daily hustle?   Then why not take an afternoon off and spend it in an enjoyable place (the beach, your favorite cafe, the park etc.) and review the results you've been getting from your marketing efforts so far this year.
