networking skills

Ever wonder what to say when people ask "What do you do?"  If your answer lacks the "WOW" factor you've most likely lost business.  Way back, when I was new to networking, I created quite a few duds of my own.

Network Everywhere, Ever Day

Remember… Networking isn’t selling or promoting your products or services!  It’s just about making connections. So don't limit yourself to just traditional networking venues and occasions.  You can make connections everywhere you go, just as long as there are other people around.

Do you find networking difficult or stressful? If so, you're not alone. If the truth be told many business owners tolerate or dislike networking because they find it challenging or just fed up with minimal results - even many of those who seem naturally good at it.

And there's a reason for that - if you consider how most people approach networking, it's not surprising they find it less than fulfilling.

Networking is a Life Skill Not a Sales Skill

It isn’t a place you’s a way of being. Networking is about building associations, making connections and relationships that are mutually beneficial.

Do you think of networking as an arduous activity that requires a special time, a special place, and, well...  special skills?

Would you like to generate more referrals for BOTH someone else and yourself?
Well, a very effective strategy is to start giving more testimonials. Yes, it's surprising how something so simple and easy can have such an enormous impact on referrals.
"Let's do lunch."  How often have you heard that phrase.  And how often have you wondered if you are actually "doing lunch" correctly.  Here are seven tips for acing that business lunch.
1. Lunch is for connecting
It's not about getting business, certainly not directly, so leave your samples and folders behind (unless your guest has specifically requested them), and it's not really about the food either.
